The Australian Taxpayers’ Alliance & MyChoice Australia applaud tonight’s Federal Budget announcement that the Australian National Preventative Health Agency will be abolished.
A bill to cut ANPHA will be introduced into parliament this week, as part of the abolition of 70 federal government agencies.
“MyChoice Australia has consistently lobbied for the abolition of the Australian National Preventative Health Agency” said Lara Jeffery, Director of MyChoice Australia.
“We applaud the Abbott government meeting their election commitments to fight the nanny state and slim bloated bureaucracies”
“ANPHA was an uninspired tax sinkhole that a power-drunk wowser elite used to advocate banning, taxing, and taking away consumer’s choices” said Tim Andrews, Executive Director of the Australian Taxpayers’ Alliance
“They have taken every chance to promote policies of control, because they are the only way to meet ANPHA’s increasingly neurotic standards of acceptable quantity of life.
“They’ve wasted millions of taxpayer dollars on feeble, nagging media campaigns for no measurable benefit –like pushing a fat tax which did a fat lot of good. Now the health system can get on with providing healthcare.
“The Prime Minister likes to say that the adults are back in charge, and with this move he is putting Australian adults back in charge of their own lives.”
